Dan + Shay share the powerful new single “Say So”

Country stars Dan + Shay are opening a deeply personal chapter with their latest release, “Say So,” unveiled globally through Warner Records Nashville. Known for chart-topping love songs, the duo shifts into more vulnerable territory, delivering a moving reflection on grief, connection, and the importance of speaking up.

“‘Say So’ is a reminder that no matter what you are going through, you don’t have to go through it alone,” they share. “We wrote this song from a very personal place and could not be prouder to stand behind the message.”

The track was written by Dan Smyers, Shay Mooney, Jimmy Robbins, and David Hodges, with Smyers co-producing alongside Scott Hendricks. It emerged from a period of deep loss following the sudden passing of someone close to the duo, shaping one of the most emotionally resonant songs of their career.

Rather than focusing on romance, “Say So” confronts the weight people often carry in silence. It captures the shock of losing someone and the lingering question of what might have been said or done differently. At its core, the song extends a message of hope—encouraging listeners to lean on others and reminding them they are not alone.

A striking music video, directed by Smyers, further amplifies the song’s message. The release has been backed by a wide-reaching campaign, including support from platforms like Spotify, Amazon, Pandora, and YouTube, along with major radio premieres across networks nationwide.

“Say So” also signals the start of a fresh creative phase for the duo. After stepping away from touring to spend time writing and recording, they return with renewed focus and inspiration. The single offers an early glimpse into what could become their next full-length project.

Hulu orders ‘The X-Files’ reboot from Ryan Coogler, starring Danielle Deadwyler

Hulu is moving forward with a fresh chapter of The X-Files, officially granting a pilot order to a reboot spearheaded by Ryan Coogler. The filmmaker will write and direct the episode, with Danielle Deadwyler tapped as one of the two central FBI agents.

The original The X-Files debuted on Fox in 1993, running nine seasons and spawning two feature films before a brief revival in 2016. The series starred Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny as FBI agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder, investigating paranormal mysteries.

The updated series centers on “Two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.” While the premise echoes the original’s paranormal investigations, the new version is expected to reflect a contemporary lens.

Behind the scenes, Jennifer Yale has joined as showrunner and executive producer. Original creator Chris Carter will serve as a non-writing executive producer alongside Coogler and his Proximity Media partners, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler. Simone Harris is co-executive producing, with casting led by Francine Maisler.

The project has been in development for roughly three years and falls under Coogler’s overall television deal with Disney, the parent company of Hulu and 20th Television. Coogler later confirmed his involvement, sharing, “I’ve been excited about that for a long time, and I’m fired up to get back to it. Some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really f*cking scary. We’re gonna try to make something really great and really be something for the real X-Files fans, and maybe find some new ones.”

Singer D4vd charged with murder of 14yo girl whose remains were found in his car

Alt-pop artist D4vd has been formally charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 14-year-old girl whose dismembered remains were discovered inside his impounded Tesla in Los Angeles, authorities announced on Monday.

The 21-year-old musician, whose legal name is David Burke, was arrested last week following a lengthy investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez and is currently being held without bail. Prosecutors allege that Burke not only killed the teen but also engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with her when she was under 14, and later mutilated her body. The case had been under review by a grand jury, and authorities spent months gathering forensic and digital evidence before filing charges. Prosecutors have not yet decided whether they will seek the death penalty.

According to investigators, Rivas Hernandez — who had previously been reported missing after running away at 13 — was last seen alive on April 23, 2025, when she arrived at Burke’s Hollywood Hills residence. She was not heard from again. Months later, in September, police made a gruesome discovery at a Hollywood tow yard after being called to investigate a strong odor coming from a vehicle. Inside Burke’s abandoned Tesla, officers found her decomposed remains, which had been placed in separate bags.

Authorities believe she had been dead for weeks before the body was found, which occurred just one day after what would have been her 15th birthday. While the exact cause of death has not been publicly released, officials confirmed that the findings of the medical examiner remain sealed.

Prosecutors say the case includes several aggravating factors that could elevate the punishment to life without parole or even the death penalty. These include allegations that the killing was carried out for financial gain, involved lying in wait, and was intended to silence a witness — as the victim was allegedly connected to the sexual abuse charges. District Attorney Nathan Hochman said during a press briefing that “there is physical evidence and there is forensic and digital evidence that we intend to present in court to prove these charges beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Police also revealed that the investigation uncovered evidence suggesting Burke had been in a sexual relationship with the victim while she was a minor. Officials defended the pace and secrecy of the investigation, emphasizing the need for precision over speculation. LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said: “My duty is not to fuel speculation. It’s to deliver justice, and that requires patience and discipline on everybody’s part. This investigation was driven by a single purpose — to secure justice for Celeste Rivas and for those who loved her.”

Burke’s legal team has strongly denied the allegations. His attorneys said: “Let us be clear — the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”

Before his arrest, D4vd had continued touring despite early scrutiny but later canceled remaining performances as the investigation intensified. Known for his breakout success on TikTok and hits like “Romantic Homicide,” the singer had quickly risen in popularity before becoming the focus of this high-profile criminal case.

Eight children killed in Shreveport, LA mass shooting tied to domestic incident

An early-morning mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, left eight children dead and several others injured after what authorities believe began as a domestic dispute.

Police responded to reports of gunfire around 6 a.m. Sunday in a neighborhood south of downtown, where they uncovered a sprawling crime scene stretching across multiple locations, including at least two nearby homes and additional related sites. In total, 10 people were shot. The victims included eight children between the ages of 1 and 14, along with two adult women, one of whom suffered life-threatening injuries.

Hudson Westbrook shares the single “Hey Dallas”

Rising country artist Hudson Westbrook is back with fresh music, unveiling his new single “Hey Dallas.”

Co-written with Reid Haughton, Beau Bailey, and Lukas Scott—who also produced the track alongside Ryan Youmans—the song cleverly riffs on the iconic phrase “Houston, we’ve got a problem,” spinning it into a warning about a captivating but trouble-making woman returning to town. “‘Hey Dallas’ just came together really naturally and was a lot of fun to write,” Westbrook says. “I’ve been teasing it, and the reaction’s been awesome — I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

The release follows his recent EP Exclusive, which showcased a smoother, more polished country-R&B sound. In contrast, early reactions to “Hey Dallas” suggest a return to the Texas-inspired style that defined his debut album Texas Forever, blending traditional influences with his modern edge.

Westbrook has also been building momentum on country radio. His latest single “Painted You Pretty’ became the most-added track upon release on country radio, with the song quickly gaining traction with fans. Beyond his own material, Westbrook recently teamed up with Gavin Adcock for the project Country Never Dies, where he delivered a well-received take on “Slow Hand,” a classic first recorded by The Pointer Sisters and later made a country staple by Conway Twitty.

On the road, Westbrook is currently touring as direct support for Bailey Zimmerman, with additional appearances alongside George Strait and Morgan Wallen lined up.

Kip Moore reveals new album “Reason To Believe” and world tour plans

Kip Moore has announced his seventh studio album, Reason To Believe, set for release May 29th. Arriving not long after 2025’s Solitary Tracks, the project marks another step in Moore’s recent surge of new music following his move to a global partnership with Virgin Music Group.

Co-produced with Andrew DeRoberts, the album introduces a fresh sonic approach that leans into space and subtlety. It also includes contributions from songwriter Hillary Lindsey, who provides guest vocals and helped write one of the tracks. The lead single, “Levee,” offers a high-energy preview, blending driving guitars with Moore’s signature style.  Check out the video: HERE.

Speaking about the project, Moore explained, “I felt like I was describing more of who I am as a human. This album is my daily thoughts. In here… It’s an ‘in here’ kind of thing.” That introspective tone carries throughout the record, which explores themes of loss, faith, and the passage of time. The album was shaped in part by personal grief, as Moore lost longtime mentor and collaborator Brett James during the recording process. The title itself comes from a song Moore previously wrote with Dan Couch and Scott Stepakoff—a track that held special meaning for James.

Fans can expect to hear the new material as Moore takes the album on the ‘Reason to Believe’ worldwide tour spanning North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.  For details, head HERE.

Michael Fassbender to portray matriarch in Netflix’s ‘Kennedy’ series

Michael Fassbender is set to take on the role of Joseph “Joe” Kennedy Sr. in Kennedy, an upcoming drama series from Netflix that will dive into the origins of one of America’s most storied families.

The streamer posted on X: “Michael Fassbender will star as Joe Kennedy Sr. in KENNEDY — a new series tracing the lives, loves, rivalries, and tragedies of the most iconic dynasty in modern history. Beginning in the 1930s, the first season charts the improbable ascent of Joe and Rose Kennedy and their nine children.”

Created by Sam Shaw and backed by Chernin Entertainment, the show will chronicle the Kennedys’ rise during the 1930s, focusing on their relationships, ambitions, and internal conflicts. The first season centers on Joe and his wife Rose as they build their legacy while raising their nine children—including a young John F Kennedy, portrayed as a rebellious figure trying to step out from his older brother’s shadow. Laura Donnelly will play Joe’s wife Rose and mother of their nine children.

Netflix said in a statement that “the new drama series, now in production, explores the lives, loves, rivalries and tragedies that shaped the most iconic dynasty in modern history.” The project draws inspiration from JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917–1956, the acclaimed biography by Fredrik Logevall, offering a deeper, more personal look at the family behind their larger-than-life public image.

Shaw emphasized the balance between myth and reality in the story, saying, “The story of the Kennedys is the closest we have to American mythology — somewhere between Shakespeare and The Bold and the Beautiful,” adding that the source material uncovers the emotional struggles and complexities beneath that legend.

Acclaimed director Thomas Vinterberg, known for Another Round, is attached to helm the series, which is planned as an ongoing production. With a strong creative team and a focus on both personal drama and historical context, Kennedy aims to present a layered portrait of a family whose influence continues to shape American culture and politics.

See the trailer for ‘Fuze’ starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James

The first trailer for Fuze previews a tense race against time as authorities scramble to respond after a World War II bomb is uncovered beneath a construction site in modern-day London. The discovery forces officials to evacuate a large section of the city while bomb disposal teams work to secure the dangerous device.

In the film, Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays a bomb disposal expert attempting to prevent catastrophe as the crisis unfolds. But the widespread confusion also creates the perfect distraction for a carefully planned robbery. As emergency crews clear the area and panic spreads, a criminal operation quietly begins to take shape. Theo James and Sam Worthington appear to be connected to the elaborate scheme, which uses the evacuation as cover for the high-risk heist. The ensemble cast also includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Saffron Hocking and Elham Ehsas.

The film’s official description reads: “Set in contemporary London, Fuze unfolds after an unexploded World War II bomb is unearthed at a busy construction site, forcing a massive citywide evacuation. As authorities race against time to contain the crisis, alliances blur, and moral boundaries are crossed, the film deftly propels audiences through a series of calculated twists, delivering a wildly entertaining ride.”

The thriller is directed by David Mackenzie, known for Hell or High Water and Outlaw King, marking a reunion with Taylor-Johnson following their previous collaboration. Written by Ben Hopkins, the movie premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and will open in North American theaters on April 24.

Former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax and wife found dead in suspected murder-suicide

Former Virginia lieutenant governor Justin Fairfax fatally shot his wife, Cerina Fairfax, before taking his own life at their home in Annandale, Virginia, according to authorities.

Police say the couple’s teenage children were inside the house when the violence unfolded shortly after midnight on Thursday. Their son called 911, initially believing his mother had been stabbed. Responding officers instead discovered evidence of a shooting, including shell casings near Cerina Fairfax’s body in the basement. Justin Fairfax was later found upstairs in a bedroom with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said the sequence of events appeared to happen quickly, with no extended confrontation. “I think it all kind of happened at once,” he noted. “There wasn’t a pause … it all happened pretty spontaneously.”

Earlier this year, Fairfax had accused his wife of assault, but police later determined no such incident occurred based on home surveillance footage. Officials described the case as a domestic dispute linked to a complicated breakup, and believe the incident stemmed from ongoing tensions tied to the couple’s separation and pending divorce. Although still living under the same roof, they had been staying in separate bedrooms. Cerina Fairfax had filed for divorce months earlier, and Justin Fairfax had recently received court documents related to the case. Authorities suggested that development may have escalated the situation. “That may have been a spark,” Davis said, adding that detectives are continuing to examine what led to the violence.

The deaths mark a stunning fall for a once-prominent political figure. Fairfax, who served as Virginia’s lieutenant governor from 2018 to 2022 under Ralph Northam, had previously been viewed as an emerging force in state politics. His trajectory shifted dramatically in 2019 when two women publicly accused him of sexual assault stemming from separate incidents years earlier. One allegation dated back to their time as students at Duke University, while another involved an encounter during the Democratic National Convention in 2004. Fairfax denied both claims, maintaining the encounters were consensual and resisting calls to resign.

Authorities emphasized the emotional toll on the couple’s children, who are now receiving support services. The police chief described the situation as deeply distressing for both the family and the broader community. “It’s very sad for this community,” Police Chief Davis said. “A lot of people who know the Fairfax family, everybody’s shocked. We’re shocked.”
