Demi Lovato comes out as non-binary, announces pronoun change to they/them

28-year-old Demi Lovato has come out as non-binary and is changing their pronouns to they/them. Lovato wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday that they identify as non-binary, or a person whose gender identity does not fit into the binary of male or female. Wrote Lovato: “I am proud to let you know that I identify as non-binary and will officially be changing my pronouns to they/them moving forward. This has come after a lot of healing and self-reflective work. I’m still learning and coming into myself, and I don’t claim to be an expert or a spokesperson. Sharing this with you now opens another level of vulnerability for me. I’m doing this for those out there that haven’t been able to share who they truly are with their loved ones.” Lovato also posted a video, saying in part: “I feel this best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and am still discovering.”

Lovato’s coming out as non-binary follows their discussion about “fluidity” with attraction on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast back in March, where Lovato confirmed at the time they identify as pansexual, or someone who is attracted to all genders. Lovato previously said on Radio Andy that they were still figuring out their sexuality but had told their parents in 2017 that they saw themselves “ending up possibly with a woman.”

Lovato released their seventh studio album, Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over, in April.

2021 Lollapalooza to return at full capacity this July

Festival producers announced Tuesday, May 18 on Twitter that Chicago’s Lollapalooza is returning at full capacity this July 29-Aug. 1 at Grant Park. Lollapalooza’s late July return will mark one of the first major North American festivals to occur since the coronavirus pandemic shut down concerts and festivals beginning in early 2020.

In order to attend, fans will have to produce full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results. For patrons who are not fully vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 24 hours of attending Lollapalooza each day.  Details on the festival entry process will be available in early July.

Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot said in a press release: “Here in Chicago, the word ‘Lollapalooza’ has always been synonymous with summer, great music and four days of unforgettable fun — which made last year’s decision to postpone it all the more difficult. Now, less than a year later and armed with a vaccine that is safe, effective and widely available, we are able to bring back one of our city’s most iconic summer music festivals. I want to thank the Lollapalooza team for working closely with the City to create a reopening strategy that prioritizes safety and can’t wait to see festivalgoers return to Grant Park this summer.”

Lollapalooza will announce its lineup Wednesday at at 10 a.m. CT., and tickets will go on sale two hours after the announcement.   For more info, visit the official Lollapalooza website.

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are married in private ceremony

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez tied the knot at an informal ceremony at her home in Montecito, California, according to multiple reports.

Grande’s rep confirmed to People: “They got married. It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people. The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”

The news comes just five months after Grande announced her engagement to Gomez, a luxury real estate agent, in December. The couple made their relationship public in Grande and Justin Bieber’s “Stuck With You” video last May.  After their engagement, sources said that Gomez and Dalton were “very in love” and had “been spending a ton of time together since getting engaged and keeping things pretty low key and private. They’re mainly keeping to themselves and just enjoying their time together.”

This is the first marriage for Grande, who was previously engaged to Pete Davidson from June to October 2018.

Billie Eilish shows off her new look on the cover of British Vogue

19-year-old Billie Eilish is featured on the cover of British Vogue, shortly after changing her green and black hair for blonde. The magazine said, “She is indulging a fantasy by embracing a ‘classic, old-timey pin-up’ look.”

Eilish said she wanted to explore the beauty of corsets, which she said she knew would rile people, but was also drawn to their original restrictive function. The new look is a huge change for Eilish, who said in the interview that her body is her “deepest insecurity” and was the initial reason for her depression when she was younger, which led to her wearing baggy clothes. Eilish said she expects criticism of her more revealing shoot with British Vogue, adding, “My thing is that I can do whatever I want. It’s all about what makes you feel good. Showing your body and showing your skin — or not — should not take any respect away from you.”

Eilish’s new album “Happier Than Ever” will be released on July 30.
