Midland share video for new song ‘Marlboro Man’

Midland are back with the new song “Marlboro Man”, written by songwriters Dean Dillon, Tim Nichols, and Josh Thompson and produced by Trent Willmon.

The trio comprised of Mark Wystrach, Jess Carson and Cameron Duddy wrote on their socials:  “Mountains in the background, hell of a view and we’ve got a brand new song to share with you. ”

Midland frontman Wystrach shares: “‘Marlboro Man’ is a soaring ballad that reflects on the 12-year journey of this band and how the road has left its scars like old leather. On the road, images of home haunt us at every turn and the landscape is filled with vistas of the same old regrets, yet the sun continues to come up, the bus marches on and the cycle continues. You always strive to learn and grow, but the core of a man never changes from summer to snow as we keep riding on along, mile after mile, to get to the next show — like that damn Marlboro Man.”

Midland also released the official music video for “Marlboro Man,” directed by Justin Clough and shot in Wystrach’s hometown of Sonoita, AZ. See the video – HERE.

Netflix secures new Matthew McConaughey, Cole Hauser drama from creator Nic Pizzolatto

Netflix has landed a new high-profile scripted series featuring Matthew McConaughey and Cole Hauser, emerging victorious after a competitive bidding process. The project, now in early development, reunites creator Nic Pizzolatto with McConaughey, though sources say final agreements for the two leads are still being finalized. Few story details have been disclosed, other than that the pair would portray brothers. Skydance Sports is on board to produce.

Variety confirmed that the project will extends McConaughey’s creative partnership with Pizzolatto, a collaboration that began with the celebrated first season of “True Detective.” The two previously planned to work together again on FX’s “Redeemer,” which did not proceed. More recently, McConaughey has been attached to star in a feature based on the “Mike Hammer” novels, with Pizzolatto writing the script.

This project also adds to a run of “True Detective”–related reunions for McConaughey. He recently wrapped production on the Apple TV+ comedy “Brothers,” in which he appears with longtime friend and former Season 1 co-star Woody Harrelson. The show draws inspiration from their real-life relationship.

Hauser, meanwhile, continues to build on the success of his breakout role as Rip Wheeler in Paramount’s “Yellowstone.” He and castmate Kelly Reilly are set to headline an upcoming franchise spinoff that has enlisted Oscar nominee Annette Bening.

Pizzolatto remains best known for creating “True Detective,” but his work spans fiction and film. His novels have been published in more than 30 languages, and his industry accolades include multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and two Writers Guild Awards.

Seattle Seahawks defeat New England Patriots to win Super Bowl LX

Seattle’s punishing defense set the tone from start to finish, powering the Seahawks to a convincing 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX on Sunday night at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Behind constant pressure and timely takeaways, the Seahawks denied New England a record-setting seventh championship while earning revenge for their Super Bowl loss to the Patriots a decade earlier. Seattle closed the season 17-3, while New England finished 17-4.

Drake Maye spent most of the night under siege as Seattle’s front repeatedly collapsed the pocket. The Seahawks recorded six sacks, intercepted Maye twice and forced a costly fumble. Linebacker Derick Hall and defensive tackle Byron Murphy each delivered two sacks, while Julian Love and Uchenna Nwosu came away with interceptions. Nwosu capped the defensive showcase by returning one pick 45 yards for a touchdown.

“When you have a game plan, you know what you are going to do,” cornerback Devon Witherspoon said. “You know how you are going to execute it. You just got to go out there and play ball. That’s what makes us who we are. We trust each other to go out there and do our thing.”

Seattle’s offense leaned heavily on Kenneth Walker III, who powered through arm tackles and finished with 161 yards from scrimmage. Walker was named Super Bowl LX MVP, becoming the first running back to earn the honor since Terrell Davis did it 28 years ago.

Jason Myers quietly made history of his own, drilling all five of his field-goal attempts — from 33, 39, 41, 41 and 41 yards — to set a Super Bowl record. His three first-half kicks accounted for all the scoring before halftime, sending Seattle into the break with a 9-0 lead.

The Seahawks extended the margin early in the second half with another Myers field goal, then finally broke through the end zone early in the fourth quarter when Sam Darnold found tight end A.J. Barner on a 16-yard touchdown pass. That score followed Hall’s strip-sack late in the third quarter, which gave Seattle a short field.

Darnold wasn’t flashy but was steady, completing 19 of 38 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown without committing a turnover throughout the postseason. “To do this with this team, I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Darnold said. “So proud of our guys, our defense. I mean, I can’t say enough great things about our defense, our special teams.”

New England briefly showed signs of life when Maye connected with Mack Hollins for a 35-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter. Myers responded with his fifth field goal, and Nwosu’s interception return on the ensuing possession effectively sealed the outcome. Maye later added a 7-yard touchdown pass to Rhamondre Stevenson in the final minutes.

Maye finished 27 of 43 for 295 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions and a fumble. After the game, he acknowledged the disappointment, saying, “Definitely hurts. They played better than us tonight.” He also revealed he had received a pain-relieving injection in his injured right shoulder but said it did not affect his performance.

Despite the lopsided score, Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez stood out defensively, breaking up two potential touchdown passes in the second quarter, including a deep ball to Rashid Shaheed and another in the end zone intended for Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

For Seattle, the win marked the franchise’s second Super Bowl title and its first return to the sport’s biggest stage since its heartbreaking loss to New England in 2015. Head coach Mike Macdonald credited his team’s unity throughout the season. “We never wavered,” Macdonald said. “We believed in each other. We loved each other and now we are world champions.”

Savannah Guthrie and siblings issue plea for mother’s safe return in latest video message

Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have issued a new, emotional public appeal as authorities continue searching for their mother, Nancy Guthrie, who investigators believe was abducted from her home near Tucson, Arizona.

In a brief video shared late Saturday on social media, the ‘Today’ show co-anchor appeared alongside her brother Camron and sister Annie, directly addressing whoever may be holding their 84-year-old mother. “We received your message and we understand,” Guthrie said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

The message followed confirmation from federal and local officials that they are reviewing new communications related to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Investigators have not publicly verified the authenticity of any alleged ransom notes, though multiple messages sent to media outlets are being treated seriously. One note reportedly included deadlines and a demand for payment, while others varied in content and did not provide proof of life.

Law enforcement sources say Nancy Guthrie was last seen late on Jan. 31 after being dropped off at her home in the Catalina Foothills area following a family dinner. She was reported missing the next morning when she failed to attend church. Investigators believe she may have been taken overnight. A disconnected doorbell camera, a disrupted pacemaker app signal, and blood found on her porch have all been cited as key elements of the case.

Despite extensive searches and ongoing forensic work — including examination of Guthrie’s vehicle and home — authorities have not identified a suspect or person of interest. Officials say they are developing information but caution that there are no imminent breakthroughs.

Former FBI negotiators have noted that the family’s public messaging reflects a careful effort to keep communication open and emphasize a peaceful resolution. The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s safe recovery or the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Anyone with information about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance is urged to call the Pima County Sheriff’s tip line at 520-351-4900.

Ella Langley shares title track to sophomore album “Dandelion,” announces U.S. tour dates

Ella Langley announced her long-awaited sophomore album, Dandelion, will arrive April 10th. Dandelion was executive-produced by Miranda Lambert (who is also one of the co-writers on her smash hit song “Choosin’ Texas”)  and Ben West, and will be available on limited edition signed honey bee yellow colored vinyl, standard puffball white colored vinyl, and standard CD.

The album announcement was accompanied by a video narrated by Langley, in which she explains the concept behind the album: “Dandelions are masters of survival, thriving in even the harshest environments. Often dismissed as a common weed, this unassuming plant carries a deeper symbolism of hope, healing, and resilience. This next record to me has so much growth in it. I feel the most myself I’ve ever felt. I want you to dance. I want you to sing. I want you to be able to relate to these words in a way where you don’t feel alone in your thoughts. I want you to not even worry about anything and daydream and listen to these songs. I want you to enjoy them with your friends and family. And I’ve thought about this record every single day for the last year and a half. And I’m so excited to finally say, welcome to Dandelion.”

Langley added in a statement: “This record has so much growth in it. I’ve never poured more of myself into a project, into a song, into an idea, and it’s fallen out so beautifully. It’s about learning yourself, making mistakes, and realizing that it’s all just part of life … I want this record to be something that fans can relate to, but also something they want to get up and dance to at the same time. To me, this record feels like fireflies in the summertime. It feels like windows down on a red dirt road. It feels like the best kind of Sunday afternoon.”  Langley also noted: “I learned that dandelion tea is actually a natural detox for the liver. So a record called Dandelion after a record called hungover made all the sense in the world to me.”

Langley also announced that she will be hitting the road on ‘The Dandelion Tour’ across the U.S., in support of the new project. The 15-show tour will include visits in St. Louis, Mo.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Austin, Texas, and more, before concluding Aug. 15 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Langley shared in a social media post: “You know we had to take this record on the road… So excited to announce The Dandelion Tour! Also, bringing some of my favorite people along, you won’t wanna miss this 🌼”. Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe, and Kaitlin Butts will rotate as support, with additional appearances from Gabriella Rose and Laci Kaye Booth on select dates.  For ticket info, head HERE.

The ‘Dandelion’ album and tour announcement arrives as the album’s lead single, “Choosin’ Texas,” currently remains in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a third consecutive week, and Top 5 at country radio. The song has amassed more than 240 million streams, becoming Langley’s biggest solo release to date.  Langley also released the title track from the album, written by Ella, Joybeth Taylor, Austin Goodloe, and Brett Tyler. ‘Dandelion’ also arrives alongside a visualizer co-directed by Langley with Wales Toney of Whale Tale. FX limited series ‘Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette’ to debut Feb. 12

The premiere date for the inaugural season of Ryan Murphy‘s newest anthology series, Love Story, is set for Feb. 12.

Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette is an adaptation of Elizabeth Beller’s book, ‘Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.’ The logline for the series reads: “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette charts the complex and heartbreaking journey of a couple whose private love became a national obsession.”

In the newly released trailer, JFK Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly), President John F. Kennedy’s only son, is described as America’s “most eligible bachelor.” He falls in love with Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon) – described as “a confident and independent woman who rose from being a sales assistant to an executive at Calvin Klein, and became a trusted confidante of its eponymous founder.”

Kennedy, 38, married Bessette, 33, in 1996. The couple died in 1999, along with Carolyn’s older sister Lauren, in a plane crash off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., in 1999. The series will also feature Grace Gummer as Caroline Kennedy, Naomi Watts as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Alessandro Nivola as Calvin Klein, Leila George as Kelly Klein, Sydney Lemmon as Lauren Bessette and Constance Zimmer as Ann Marie Messina.

An official series synopsis reads: “It was a love story that captured the attention of the nation: John F. Kennedy Jr. was the closest thing to American royalty. The country watched him grow from a boy to a beloved bachelor and media sensation. Carolyn Bessette was a star in her own right. Fiercely independent and with a singular style, she rose from being a sales assistant to an executive at Calvin Klein, and became a trusted confidante of its eponymous founder. John and Carolyn’s connection was immediate, electric and undeniable. As their love story unfolded on a national stage, the intense fame and media attention that came along with it threatened to rip them apart.”

Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette premieres with three episodes on February 12 on FX and Hulu, after which one new episode of the nine-episode series will be released each subsequent Thursday.
