Production to begin this summer for “Wedding Crashers” sequel featuring original cast

Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Isla Fisher and Rachel McAdams are set to reprise their roles for Wedding Crashers 2 for HBO Max.

The original film starred Vaughn and Wilson as Jeremy and John, divorce mediators who spent their free time crashing wedding receptions.  According to reports, the sequel to the comedy film will start filming in August in Puerto Rico, and along with Vaughn and Wilson, both actresses from the first film–Rachel McAdams and Isla Fisher — will be returning.

Vaughn had previously teased the sequel back in November 2020, saying to Entertainment Tonight: “Owen and I and the director of Crashers have been talking for the first time seriously [about] a sequel to that movie. So there has been an idea that is pretty good. So we are talking about that in the early stages.” Vince said that the film was a “fun movie to make,” adding, “It’s always fun to make people laugh and go to work with people that are funny.”

Former President Trump ends his blog after less than a month

Former President Donald Trump is shutting down his blog after less than a month.  “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” went live May 4, featuring statements Trump has made since March. The blog was meant to fill the ex-president’s communication gap after he was banned by social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter in January. Last month, the Facebook Oversight Board ruled that Trump would remain banned from the platform, but Facebook did not decide whether the ban will be permanent or set a time for reinstatement.

The blog site “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” redirects now to a different site that asked visitors to sign up for Trump updates. According to Trump adviser Jason Miller  “It was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have [been] and are working on.”

Trump is expected to return to the campaign trail on behalf of Republicans running for seats in the House and Senate in 2022. Trump himself has not announced whether he will run again for another term in office.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s opponents reach coalition deal, paving the way for his exit

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s opponents announced they have reached a deal to form a new governing coalition, paving the way for the ouster of the longtime Israeli leader.

The announcement by opposition leader Yair Lapid and his main coalition partner, Naftali Bennett, came shortly before a midnight deadline.  Under the agreement, Lapid and Bennett will split the job of prime minister in a rotation. Bennett will serve the first two years, while Lapid is to serve the final two years.

The agreement still needs to be approved by the Knesset, or parliament, in a vote early next week. If it goes through, Lapid and a diverse array of partners will end the 12-year rule of Netanyahu. Netanyahu, who is fighting corruption charges, is expected to do everything possible in the coming days to prevent the new coalition from taking power. If he fails, he will be pushed into the opposition.
