Kane Brown announces U.S. leg of ‘Drunk or Dreaming Tour’ featuring Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett & LOCASH

Kane Brown has announced dates for his U.S. leg of the Drunk or Dreaming Tour.  The trek, which features special guests Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett and Locash on select dates, will kick off in Grand Rapids, MI on March 16, 2023, and will visit 23 cities throughout the United States before wrapping up in Greenwood Village, CO at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Brown is preparing to embark on the international leg of his Drunk or Dreaming Tour, which will kick off on September 17 in Melbourne, VIC at Margaret Court Arena and will continue through Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, and Europe, before wrapping up in Stockholm on January 31. The international trek marks Brown’s first time touring in Australia and New Zealand, and features special guests Restless Road, Jessie James Decker, Blanco Brown and Chris Lane on select dates.

Tickets for the U.S. leg of Brown’s Drunk or Dreaming Tour go on-sale to the general public Friday, September 9, at 10am local time. Register now at kanebrownmusic.com for pre-sale that begins Tuesday, September 6 at 10am local time. Kenny Chesney and Old Dominion team up for the song ‘Beer With My Friends’

Kenny Chesney and Old Dominion have released their new collaboration, “Beer With My Friends.” The release of the song comes shortly after the final two nights of Chesney’s Here And Now Tour, which featured Old Dominion as a special guest.  Chesney had invited members of OD to join him on stage throughout his tour, saying of the group: “There are people you meet and just click. Matt (Ramsey) and Brad (Tursi) have been singing ‘Save It for a Rainy Day’ with me on all these tours, and that’s always – every single night – one of the highlights of the show for me. You can feel the energy, so I started thinking we better catch that while we can.”

‘Beer With My Friends,” co-written by David Lee Murphy, Shy Carter, and Bryan Simpson, shares the feel-good vibes and energy that Chesney and Old Dominion are known for.  Chesney said of the track:  “We’ve all been there. It doesn’t matter if it’s four years or yesterday, there’s nothing like hitting that local bar with your friends. That’s what this whole tour has felt like – every city, every face, every song – as we’ve taken it back out to No Shoes Nation. It’s so much more than a show or a concert, it’s really letting go – and I wanted to capture that in a song. ‘Beer With My Friends’ is all of it.”

‘The Goldbergs’ kills off Jeff Garlin’s character ahead of Season 10

The ABC sitcom “The Goldbergs” launches its 10th season this fall, but without Jeff Garlin’s patriarch Murray, who has been killed off. Premiering Sept. 21, Season 10 also introduce a new member to the family, as newlyweds Erica (Hayley Orrantia) and Geoff (Sam Lerner) have their first child.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunners Alex Barnow and Chris Bishop shared how “The Goldbergs” will deal with Garlin’s controversial departure from the series midway through its ninth season. Garlin’s exit was a “mutual agreement” between himself and Sony Pictures Television following an HR investigation into his on-set behavior. Barnow said: “This is going to be a family that has not reconciled the fact that their father’s gone but has sort of moved on and has dealt with a lot of that. So we’re starting with optimism about a baby coming and looking forward to the future. It’s an opportunity for this interesting emotional basis for the way people are behaving.” Bishop added: “It honestly feels like a huge reboot for us. So we have tons of momentum rolling into this new season.”

The series was filming the 15th and 16th episodes of Season 9 when Garlin was suddenly off the show due to the allegations of inappropriate behavior. However, the star still appeared via off-camera dialogue pulled from earlier episodes and unused takes, as well as previously shot images.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins Season 4 of Amazon series ‘The Boys’

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined the cast of the Amazon series The Boys. Prime Video confirmed on The Boys official Twitter account that the 56-year-old Morgan will appear in Season 4 of the superhero series.  “Chuffed to welcome @JDMorgan to The Boys S4. Can’t confirm if he’s gettin’ any tights, though,” the tweet reads. Morgan will appear as a recurring guest star in Season 4. Details about his character are being kept under wraps.

The Boys follows a team of vigilantes as they take on a group of corrupt superheroes. Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone and Karen Fukuhara star. Morgan previously collaborated with The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke on the WB/CW series Supernatural, where he had a recurring role as John Winchester.

Currently, Morgan plays Negan on the AMC series The Walking Dead, which is in its 11th and final season. He will reprise that role in the spinoff series Dead City.

Mississippi governor declares state of emergency due to water shortage

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves declared a state of emergency on Monday due to the state capitol’s water shortage. Reeves said the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is also working to prepare an emergency order due to little or no water pressure in the city of Jackson.

The state of emergency declaration comes after Jackson Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba declared a water system emergency due to complications from the Pearl River flooding. The mayor said the flooding led to water pressure issues at the O.B. Curtis Water Treatment Facility, causing little to no water pressure for many Jackson customers. Until the issue at the treatment facility has been fixed, there is no reliable, running water in the city, affecting more than 100,000 people.

State Health Officer Dr. Daniel Edney said neighbors should boil their water for one minute before consuming it. The state has also created a mobile incident command center, which will be in operation on Tuesday to help with repairs and improvements at the water treatment plant. Reeves said the city of Jackson will be responsible for half of the cost of the emergency repairs that will be made at the facility.

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, who helped end the Cold War, has died at age 91

According to the Gorbachev Foundation, Mikhail Gorbachev — the final leader of the Soviet Union who helped end the Cold War and lead his country from communism to capitalism — died Tuesday at 91. The Interfax news agency said in a statement from the Central Clinical Hospital that “Mikhail Sergeevich Gorbachev died this evening after a serious and long illness.”  Gorbachev will be buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow next to his wife, Raisa Gorbachev, according to the agency.

Gorbachev grew up a committed communist during World War II. After graduating from Moscow State University with a law degree in 1955, he rose through the ranks of the Communist Party and ascended to the party’s top position of General Secretary in March 1985. Gorbachev inacted changes like “perestroika” and “glasnost”– reforms that sought to restructure the Soviet Union’s lagging economy and make its government more transparent.

In 1989, Gorbachev did not send in Soviet tanks to crush the uprisings when pro-democracy rallies began in Poland and swept across the Soviet bloc. The following year, he won the Nobel Peace Prize for helping end the Cold War. The Soviet Union quickly began to disintegrate as the captive Baltic nations of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia pulled away and other nations that had been under Moscow rule, including Ukraine, sought independence. Months after an attempted coup, Gorbachev resigned on Dec. 25, 1991; the Soviet Union was dissolved a day later.

Russian state news agency TASS reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed “deep condolences” over Gorbachev’s death.  Officials including Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres and European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised Gorbachev’s leadership Tuesday, saying he changed the course of history and paved the way for a free Europe.

Mickey Guyton shares her new song ‘Somethin’ Bout You’

Mickey Guyton is sharing her first new song since the release of her 2021 debut album Remember Her Name last September. The song, “Somethin’ Bout You,” was co-written by Guyton, David Garcia, and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard. (Garcia and Hubbard co-produced the track too.)

Guyton wrote on social media: “This summer I took the time to unplug, focus on new music, and to really enjoy what life is all about. What I found was so much love. I had such an amazing time writing this with Tyler Hubbard and David Garcia. This song just has a fun vibe and is about being enamored with everything about your partner. I just LOVE love and hope that when you listen to it, it reminds you of the special someone.”

Kip Moore and Morgan Wade team up in the new video for “If I Was Your Lover”

Kip Moore has released his new video for “If I Was Your Lover,” with fellow country artist Morgan Wade as his co-star. Moore and Wade shot the video with Moore’s frequent collaborator, PJ Brown.

Moore co-wrote the song with Matt Bubel three months into lockdown, while talking about the pandemic and their fears over what would happen to the music industry. Says Moore: “He [Bubel] came over with just that opening track, and it felt so eerie, and there was so much angst and tension to me in that track. All he had was the keyboard and the drum track. I just asked if I could live with it. When I first heard it, the whole melody fell out of my mouth.”

Megan Thee Stallion joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe with role on Disney+ series ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’

Megan Thee Stallion is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Megan has been cast in ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,’ Marvel’s latest Disney+ TV series. The superhero legal drama follows Jennifer Walters (played by Tatiana Maslany), an attorney specializing in superhuman-oriented cases who must navigate her personal and professional life as she becomes She-Hulk.

She-Hulk premiered on Disney+ in mid-August 2022, releasing episodes weekly each Thursday. The first season of the show will conclude on October 13.  Actor Josh Segarra, who plays attorney Augustus “Pug” Pugliese on the show, hinted at Megan’s upcoming storyline: “A gentleman is being catfished by somebody that lives in another universe, let’s say. Another world. So he thinks he’s dating one person, and he’s not, so we need to help him figure that out.”

She-Hulk is one of many TV and film projects for Megan, who was cast earlier this year in the comedy musical F*cking Identical Twin. The rapper also made a cameo in early August as her alter ego Tina Snow in the second season of Starz’s P-Valley.

Actress Charlbi Dean, star of ‘Triangle of Sadness’ and ‘Black Lightning’, dies at age 32

Charlbi Dean, a South African actor known for her roles in Triangle of Sadness and Black Lightning, has died at age 32.  According to Deadline and Variety, Dean died in a New York City hospital on Monday following an unspecified illness.

Dean, a native of Cape Town, South Africa, was discovered as a model at just six years old. She appeared on the cover of a number of well-known magazines, including the South African versions of GQ and Elle.  Dean made her acting debut in the 2010 South African film Spud; she also had roles in Death Race 3: Inferno, Blood in the Water and An Interview with God, and in 2013 filmed a sequel to Spud titled Spud 2: The Madness Continues. 

Dean had a recurring role in the superhero television series Black Lightning on The CW, portraying orphan-turned-assassin Syonide in nine episodes of the show over its first two seasons. Her most notable role to date was in the 2022 film Triangle of Sadness, marking her first appearance in a major Hollywood film.  The film, also starring Dolly de Leon and Woody Harrelson, had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this past May, where it received critical acclaim and an eight-minute standing ovation. It went on to win the festival’s highest prize, the Palme d’Or — considered one of the most prestigious honors in the film industry.  The film will debut in theaters on Oct. 8.

At the time of her death, Dean was engaged to male model Luke Volker.
