Miranda Lambert shares video for ‘Armadillo’

Miranda Lambert has released the new lyric video for the fan-favorite track “Armadillo,” taken off Miranda’s latest album Postcards from Texas.

The video was created by cutting-edge artist Ceci Mulia, and is a signature blend of Lambert’s humor and Texas spirit. Lambert previously collaborated with Mulia on the popular lyric video for fellow Postcards from Texas track “Alimony,” released earlier this summer.

Lambert’s Postcards from Texas arrived earlier this fall, marking 10 consecutive Top 10s on the Top Country Albums chart for the artist.

Brandi Carlile shares 6th Annual ‘Girls Just Wanna Weekend’ lineup

Brandi Carlile’s ‘Girls Just Wanna Weekend Festival’ revealed its all-female, non-binary lineup.

‘Girls Just Wanna’ will take place January 16-20, 2025 at Barceló Maya Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and in addition to Carlile herself the weekend will include performances by Shania Twain, MUNA, Maren Morris, Lucius, Brandy Clark, Brittney Spencer, Jensen McRae, Allison Ponthier, Arroba Nat, Tish Melton, SistaStrings, Yasmin Williams, The Carlile Family Band and The Marshgrass Mamas, as well as comedian Kristen Key.

Carlile shared: “Each year, Girls Just Wanna Weekend grows into something even more special – a space where music, love, and inclusivity shine. This lineup is a dream come true, and I’m so proud to share it with a community that means the world to me!” 

The sixth annual edition of the festival ‘prides itself on creating a safe and inclusive space for all attendees, with a special emphasis on fostering a welcoming environment for the predominantly LGBTQ+ audience. The Brandi Land campus within the Barceló Maya Resort ensures that everyone can celebrate in comfort and community.’

Netflix’s ‘Outer Banks’ to end with fifth and final season

Netflix announced that it has renewed Outer Banks for a fifth and final season.

Per Deadline, co-creators/executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke said in a statement: “We imagined a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting, and friendship. It seemed impossible that we would really get to tell the whole five-season story, but here we are at the end of our fourth season, still chopping away.”

The trio added that Season 4 “was our longest and hardest — but most rewarding — to produce” and that the season ends with a feature-length episode “which we think is our best, most powerful episode. We hope you feel the same way. We hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned years ago .. We hope you’ll join us for one more paddle out to the surf break.”  (read the note in its entirety HERE).

Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline as lovers from opposite social castes.  The series also stars Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Carlacia Grant, Drew Starkey, Austin North, Fiona Palomo, J. Anthony Crane, Pollyanna McIntosh, Brianna Brown, Rigo Sanchez, Mia Challis and Cullen Moss.

Jon Stewart to continue hosting ‘The Daily Show’ through 2025

Comedy Central announced that Jon Stewart will continue to host The Daily Show through December 2025, keeping him as a once-a-week host and full-time executive producer of the show.

The news comes just over nine months after Stewart made a deal to return to the show after an eight year absence, hosting the show once a week (usually Monday nights) through the presidential election. The 61-year-old comedian said in a statement: “I’ve truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team at The Daily Show and Comedy Central. I was really hoping they’d allow me to do every other Monday, but I’ll just have to suck it up…”  Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta and Jordan Klepper step in to host The Daily show when Stewart is out.

Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and president/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, shared: “Jon’s incisive intellect and sharp wit make him one of the most important voices in political and cultural commentary today. His ability to cut through the noise and deliver clear-eyed insights is exactly what we need, which is why we are thrilled to have him leading The Daily Show for another year.”

South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol to lift martial law after parliament rejects decree

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said early Wednesday that he would lift the ’emergency martial law’ he imposed on Tuesday, after South Korea’s National Assembly voted early Wednesday morning to lift the decree he’d imposed, in which he declared the opposition party was plotting a rebellion against the government.

The official decree from Yoon, sent to reporters, had said that “all media and publications are subject to the control of martial law command.” Gen. Park An-su, South Korea’s Army Chief of Staff had banned all political activities after Yoon declared martial law on Tuesday night, which included demonstrations and political party activities.  The decree had warned that “fake news, public opinion manipulation and false propaganda are prohibited,” warning that violators could be arrested without a warrant.

Yoon charged his opponents with anti-state activities against the government, saying in a televised speech: “I declare martial law in order to eradicate the shameless pro-North Korea anti-state forces that are plundering the freedom and happiness of our people and to protect the free constitutional order.”

The BBC later reported that during a session at 1 a.m. local time the resolution was passed with 190 of 300 members of the ruling and opposition parties in attendance, with all present in the plenary session voting to demand Yoon lift martial law. The parliamentary speaker’s office said the vote makes the Yoon martial law declaration void, according to the country’s constitution. National Assembly Speaker Woo Won Shik declaring that lawmakers “will protect democracy with the people.” Woo called for police and military personnel to withdraw from the Assembly’s grounds.

As of Wednesday, Yoon said his government has withdrawn military personnel that had been deployed, and that he would formally lift martial law following a Cabinet meeting as “soon as members arrive.” Police and military personnel were seen leaving the Assembly’s grounds after Woo called for their withdrawal. Lee Jae-myung, leader of the liberal Democratic Party (which holds the majority in the 300-seat parliament) said the party’s lawmakers will remain in the Assembly’s main hall until Yoon formally lifts his order.

Secret Service agent open fire near Janet Yellen’s DC home after car break-in

A Secret Service special agent protecting U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen opened fire early Tuesday on people who were suspected of car break-ins. Yellen was not harmed and there’s no indication she or the Secret Service were specifically targeted. Per Politico, it was unclear if Yellen was home at the time of the incident.

The Secret Service said in a statement that a special agent was working “a protective assignment” on Stephenson Place NW in Washington, D.C., at about 1:30 a.m. when the agent “observed a sedan with multiple occupants who were attempting to open car doors along the street.” The occupants of the vehicle confronted the Secret Service agent, and fled the scene after an agent fired shots, authorities say, adding that there was no evidence anyone was shot.  The Secret Service said that “there was no threat to any protectees during this incident and no protectees were harmed,” and the search for the suspects is ongoing.

An investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Force Investigations Team is underway, with the case also under review by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Jason Aldean has released the music video for ‘Whiskey Drink’, the third radio single from his current album Highway Desperado.  “Whiskey Drink” is the follow-up to Aldean’s chart-topping hit songs “Try That In A Small Town” and “Let Your Boys Be Country.”

Aldean recently wrapped his sold-out ‘Highway Desperado’ Tour across the U.S, ending with a final hometown tour stop in Macon, GA. While in Macon, Aldean also played an additional Concert For the Kids charity benefit, which benefited the city’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital. The Aldean family raised and donated more than $618,000 to support the hospital’s continued lifesaving efforts

Blake Shelton shares video for his new song ‘Texas’

Blake Shelton has shared the video for his new single, “Texas”, inspired by country legend George Strait.

“Texas”, written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr & Lalo Guzman, is Shelton’s debut for BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville and Wheelhouse Records. Shelton’s longtime producer, Scott Hendricks, produced the song.

Says Shelton of the song: “The thing that struck me about ‘Texas’ immediately was how different it sounded for me, and I’m always looking to push myself. I think there’s something really special about this record and important for me .. this is the perfect opportunity to come back with something so different, and it easily felt like it should be the first single. It’s connected with what I’ve done but moves forward at the same time, and it’s the perfect start to the next chapter of my career.”

‘Jumanji 3’ set for 2026 theatrical release

‘Jumanji 3’ is set for a Dec. 11, 2026 theatrical release. Per Variety, the film franchise will return to theaters for the third installment starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black.

Jake Kasdan, who directed 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level, is returning to helm the next chapter. In addition to the three Jumanji movies, Kasdan and Johnson collaborated on Red One, the holiday movie co-starring Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, J.K. Simmons and Kiernan Shipka that recently premiered in theaters.

The blockbuster Jumanji franchise follows a group of teens who get sucked into a video game and have to meet numerous challenges to get home. The originally 1995 film Jumanji — starring Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt and Kirsten Dunst — followed a similar plotline, but involved a board game instead of an electronic one.

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for Wolf Man, a re-imagining of the Lon Chaney classic.

In Wolf Man, Christopher Abbott plays Blake, a father bitten by a wolf after his family is in an automobile accident. Taking refuge in a cabin, his wife Charlotte (Julia Garner) and daughter Ginger (Matilda Firth) begin to notice his changes. Sam Jaeger, Benedict Hardie, Ben Prendergast, Zac Chandler, Beatriz Romilly and Milo Cawthorne also star.

The official synopsis reads: “The film follows Blake (Abbott), a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to his high-powered wife, Charlotte (Garner), fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth). But as the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to decide whether the terror within their house is more lethal than the danger without.”

Leigh Whannell wrote and directed Wolf Man; with Ryan Gosling and Jason Blum producing and Whannell, Beatriz Sequeira, Mel Turner and Ken Kao serving as executive producers.
