Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry signs record deal as solo artist

Singer Kimberly Perry from The Band Perry has announced she’s pursuing a solo career, inking a deal with RECORDS Nashville/Columbia Records as a solo artist.  Just one week ago, The Band Perry announced they were taking a break, telling fans via Instagram, “We wanted to let you know that the three of us have decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits. During this season we will support each other as artists and family in all that we do. Thank you for making our childhood dreams come true!”

Perry said in a statement that RECORDS Nashville’s “appreciation for my journey and my vision for the future as a solo artist has been overwhelming. Everything came together so organically, and it felt right from the very start.”  Now a Nashville resident, Perry added, “Being in this town of amazing, creative people for the past year brought me full circle to my original passions — country music and sharing meaningful stories. I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful and welcoming community here, and I feel equally lucky to have found the perfect partner in RECORDS to get my new music out to the fans.”

RECORDS founder/CEO Barry Weiss added in a statement, “We’re so excited at RECORDS Nashville to welcome Kimberly Perry as a solo artist with her return to country music.”  RECORDS Nashville Executive VP of Promo & Commercial Strategy Josh Easler, and RECORDS Nashville Executive VP Joe Fisher added, “We are thrilled about the honor of working with one of the most recognizable artists in country music. Kimberly has made some incredible music for her solo country debut, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”
